Dr. Marsha Jackson | Founder + Executive Director
Dr. Marsha Jackson is an environmental activist who loves her family, church, animals, children, seniors, clean air, and the community.
In addition to serving as the executive director of Southern Sector Rising, Marsha lends her expertise to a variety of executive committees. In 2019 was the recipient of the Sierra Club Environmentalist Award, in 2020 she received the SMU Women in Profiles Award, the Juanita Craft Humanitarian Award, as well as the Green Source DFW Leadership Environmental Award. Marsha was featured in Soledad O’Brien’s BET Documentary, "Disrupt and Dismantled” and thanks to a Proclamation from the Dallas County Commissioners she celebrates “Marsha Jackson Day” on her birthday (February 22) every year.
Marsha holds a master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, a graduate HRM certificate, a bachelor’s in Business with a concentration in Management, and a doctorate in Public Administration.
